Will There Ever Be an e-Book Culture?

The debate over the future of the electronic book is at a standstill. Neo-Luddites bemoan its very existence. Cyberphiles gloat at its potential to supplant print books altogether. But in order to address the future of the e-book, we must examine the cultural, political, and philosophical perspective on written artistic expression and the dissemination of information through the print book. Participants in this discussion will be challenged to examine what the history and development of the print book can tell us about the future of the e-book . . . if in fact it is to have a future.
