Have They Found The Body of Richard III?
Have They Found The Body of Richard III? It seems that Archeologists may have uncovered the body of Richard III – it’s even hunchbacked… The Periscope Post Archeologists from Leicester University have uncovered an intact skeleton which they believe is that of Richard III, the king whose reputation as a ruthless hunchback comes from William Shakespeare’s play. The skeleton has a deformed spine, and is at the site of Grey Friars church, where Richard was thought to have been buried after the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, where he was defeated by Henry Tudor. His grave is now underneath a council car park in Leicester. DNA tests will reveal whether…

The Mysterious Death of Tutankhamen: New Scientific Revelations
The Mysterious Death of Tutankhamen: New Scientific Revelations A British surgeon argues that Tutankhamen may have suffered from epilepsy, and that his seizures may also explain the onset of monotheistic religion in Egypt… By Jessica Hamzelou and New Scientist Tutankhamen’s mysterious death as a teenager may finally have been explained. The condition that cut short the Egyptian ruler’s life may also have triggered the earliest monotheistic religion, suggests a new review of his family history. Since his lavishly furnished, nearly intact tomb was discovered in 1922, the cause of Tutankhamen’s death more than 3,000 years ago has been at the center of intense debate. There have been theories of murder,…

How To Tell If Myths Ring True…
How To Tell If Myths Ring True… The character Jac L’Etoile in The Book of Lost Fragrances studies mythology – it is her life’s work to find the truth behind myths. She would be extremely interested in the following article from the Sunday Review: If Achilles Used Facebook… By PADRAIG MAC CARRON WHEN we pick up a mythological text like “The Iliad” or “Beowulf,” we like to imagine that the societies they describe existed. Even if the stories are fiction, we believe that they tell us something about ancient Greece or the Anglo-Saxons, and that some of the characters and events were based on reality. Archaeological evidence suggests that at…

Scientists Declare Shroud of Turin Is Likely Authentic
Scientists Declare Shroud of Turin Is Likely Authentic The Shroud of Turin is one of the most fascinating objects on earth, and it received quite a bit of attention recently after Italian scientists suggested its authenticity… (HuffPost) “A series of experiments conducted by Italian researchers indicate the Shroud of Turin is likely authentic, but the team has not yet reached a definite conclusion. Decades of research on Jesus’ proposed burial cloth have revealed an array of conflicting ideas surrounding the shroud’s authenticity. However, researchers from Italy’s National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development believe their findings undermine previous theories that the shroud was faked in the medieval…

The Case Of The Missing Madonna
The Case Of The Missing Madonna Any reader of M.J.’s books is going to appreciate a real life art caper! Lucas Cranach the Elder, called “one of the strangest Renaissance artists in Germany” is back in the headlines after a few centuries at rest. His painting, “Madonna Under The Fir Tree,” has hung in a Polish cathedral for over 400 years. At least 60 of those years, however, the work was stolen and replaced with a fake. This summer the original was mysteriously returned, after negotiations between authorities and the church. Poland’s foreign minister Radoslaw Sikorski told the Art Newspaper: “The story of how the ‘Madonna under the Fire Tree’…

Apollo 20: Did NASA Go Back? And What Weirdness Did They Find?
Apollo 20: Did NASA Go Back? And What Weirdness Did They Find? More about the moon… Do you know about the claim that an alien body was found intact inside a giant mothership on the moon? There’s of the female so-called “Mona Lisa” extraterrestrial. Apparently there was a clandestine moon mission called Apollo 20, during which the astronauts found and explored the alien space ship and brought this frozen alien back to earth… I am very torn on this Apollo 20 stuff. Some of it seems so real – the Soviet and American flag on the astronaut’s console, the way the frozen alien’s face is slightly decomposed around the mouth…

How The Moon Was Born
How The Moon Was Born Our moon is a true enigma that baffles even modern astronomers - How The Moon Was Born world-mysteries.com “How scientists believe our moon came into existence. Several mechanisms have been proposed for the Moon’s formation 4.527 ± 0.010 billion years ago, some 30–50 million years after the origin of the Solar System. These included the fission of the Moon from the Earth’s crust through centrifugal force, which would require too great an initial spin of the Earth, the gravitational capture of a pre-formed Moon, which would require an unfeasibly extended atmosphere of the Earth to dissipate the energy of the passing Moon, and the co-formation…
